Artcurial maintains its ambition to help Monaco achieve the position of unchallenged international capital for luxury auctions. Each session is the opportunity to discover unparalleled lots gathered by the 3 departments, in order to satisfy the ever-growing number of Monegasque and international clients.
Julie Valade, Director of the Jewellery department will launch the auction week on 23rd January at 3pm, followed by the 24th at 7pm with a magnificent selection spanning the centuries. The creations on display will range from the Victorian era – an incredible shaped-gold necklace set with sapphires (estimate: €80,000 – 100,000) – to today with pieces by Cartier, Lorenz Bäumer, Christian Dior, Boucheron… Two diamond Art-Deco bracelets by Lacloche, one of which carries an estimate of between €25,000 and €35,000, and a magnificent gold and Lapis Lazuli pendant signed Van Cleef and Arpels from the 1970’s (estimate: €15 000 – 20 000) all deserve particular attention.
Following the success of the first two editions, Artcurial continues its effective streak with Le Temps est Féminin, dedicated to ladies’ timepieces. The memory still lingers of the heated battle of bids during the dispersion of the Gaël and Robert Schwartz private Piaget collection or the dizzying price obtained by the Bulgari Serpenti Black Mamba reaching €430,600 / $449,496 last July – the highest result to date achieved by the Important Watches Department since its creation.
